Same Robert Petersen who wrote lyrics for Pride of Cucamonga and Unbroken Chain?

How are those Devils gonna do without Irving?

Develop Dawkins and Curry more; as well as Hairston and Thornton; and be ready come tourney time. At least we don't have to hear about undefeated nonsense. Dawkins only hit 8 3s against Bradley. If Iriving has to sit out any, this is the best time of year - but too bad he won't be on the floor when K breaks Dean Smith's total victory record. I just hope it's not serious for him - if he needs to sit the entire year, then sit (even if it means jumping to NBA w/o ever playing college hoops again).

Dean Smith - the only man to ever hold MJ to under 20 points a night.

I'm waiting on CJ Leslie to produce...

IF he comes back (no one knows how serious at moment - could be season or could be a month) it will remind me of one of my all time favorite teams - and I was in the brickyard the night they won (after REM opened for second night in a row for English Beat at Duke):

From Al Featherson:
This situation could be equated to what happened to N.C. State in 1983 … when Derek Whittenburg broke his foot in January against Virginia and missed a month of the season. His absence allowed Thurl Bailey and Terry Gannon to expand their roles and pushed Sidney Lowe to take on more of a scoring load. When Whittenburg returned, N.C. State was a MUCH better team than it would have been had he played all season. Jim Valvano always thought that in hindsight, Whitt’s injury paved the way for that team’s miraculous run to the national title.

FYI, Ralph Sampson's last two losses at UVa both came against NC State - in the ACC Tourney Final at the Omni (I was there) and in West Regional Final in NCAAs. Ralph never got to a Final Four.

Not the first key player Coach K has lost during a season to foot injuries (Brand, Boozer, Hurley) - those years worked out pretty well:

Shoot BD , you are all shook up . You were posting on KI in June .
JC signed through '14 , which is a bit of a surprise . Two more puff ball games for us before the season begins on the 27th , against Pitt(10-0).

He and Kembra were by far the two most exciting players of the early season. If anything, this may help lead him to stay for a backcourt year with Austin Rivers (especially if NBA lockout happens, which appears very likely).
